Job Summary
THE POSITION:
The Coordinator III – Mathematics provides technical, consultative, advisory, planning, and supervisory services for county-wide mathematics programs and projects. This position plans, designs, and delivers staff development focused on mathematics content knowledge and current instructional practices; participates in the development of strategic operational plans and program activities; and plans, organizes, recommends, and evaluates programs, processes, and procedures. The Coordinator serves as a resource to school districts and the County Office in the area of mathematics; assists with the development and monitoring of project budgets to ensure fiscal compliance; conducts special studies and professional learning; contributes to cross-disciplinary STEM integration; monitors legislation and provides related interpretation and guidance; and coordinates project services in collaboration with local, county, state, and federal agencies. The role also includes supporting districts in the implementation of the California Mathematics Standards and Mathematics Framework.

Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Experience:
Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive experience in education administration with at least three years at site level. Demonstrated experience in Teacher Education or Professional Development (including local, regional, state, and federal conferences). Three years of professional development experience in the field of instruction for mathematics preferred.
Education:
Equivalent to a Master’s degree in mathematics from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Undergraduate major or minor in mathematics or related field.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
• Possess and maintain a valid Administrative credential.
• Possess and maintain a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics with a full Mathematics authorization and an English Learner Authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, or equivalent). (Please provide a copy of each credential document as it appears on the California Teaching Credential website with the document number on it.)
