This job offers a primarily remote work structure with on-site work required 1 day per week at our Anschutz campus.
We are seeking a highly motivated Special Accounts AR Specialist to join our Accounts Receivable Resolution (ARR) team.
The Special Accounts AR Specialist will coordinate receivables throughout the CU Medicine Patient Services special accounts to include: Company Accounts, Letter of Agreements, and Research Grants. Will work towards successful reduction in outstanding monies for assigned or specified divisions or projects.
Essential Duties
- Reviews and resolves contracted accounts through assigned work in Centricity Business and other tools.
- Build and maintain constructive and professional relationships with faculty, patients, administrators, hospital and CU Medicine staff.
- Ensures payments received are timely, correct and in complete accordance with contract requirements.
- Appeals carrier denials through coding review, contract review, medical record review and carrier interaction.
- Works with clinics, carriers, and staff to resolve outstanding accounts.
- Maintains detailed account information in Centricity Business.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a full cycle medical billing position with AR follow up
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Demonstrated understanding of CPT and ICD codes
- Strong software application skills
- Must be able to adapt quickly and be open to change
