This class will run June 8 - July 2, Monday - Thursday, 4 hours/day.    

Reports to:   Director of Special Education                                                                                                    
Rate of Pay: $35 per hour
 
Position Objective
The teacher creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the intellectual, personal and social development of all students. The teacher works collaboratively with all educators. The teacher uses data to determine learning priorities, monitor progress and assess instruction and student achievement. The teacher addresses the needs of students not achieving.
 
- Responsibilities Include:

• Managing a self-contained special education classroom
• Implementing and monitoring IEP goals
• Providing direct instruction aligned to student needs
• Supporting and managing student behavior using appropriate interventions
• Collaborating with ESY staff to ensure a structured, supportive learning environment

Additional Functions:
- Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:  
- State of Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements required

- Candidates must hold appropriate certification in Special Education. Experience serving children in a Life Skills environment preferred.
