Position Summary
This position is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing HVAC systems and installing these systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes. These systems may consist of air handling equipment, control boxes, air conditioning ducts, grease ducts and hoods, ventilators, grills and louvers or other sheet metal products and equipment. This position requires Journeyman to mentor and coach sheet metal apprentices to work safely, install and produce quality product. Must be able to layout equipment from prints, make fitting in the field as needed. Must have own sheet metal tools. This position reports to a Foreman and performs other job-related duties as required. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
- Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
