Opportunity Overview

Team Overview:
Edward Jones Bank is a newly established, FDIC‑insured industrial bank headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jones Financial Companies, L.L.L.P. and has been formed to expand Edward Jones’ ability to serve clients’ banking needs through a focused, conservatively managed banking platform.

The Bank’s business model centers on supporting Edward Jones clients through insured deposit products and securities‑based lending solutions, with a balance sheet and risk profile designed to emphasize liquidity, capital strength, and operational resiliency. Edward Jones Bank operates under a robust governance framework, with an independent Board of Directors, experienced bank leadership, and policies and controls aligned with regulatory expectations for safety, soundness, and financial reporting integrity.

Edward Jones Bank benefits from Edward Jones’ long‑standing culture of risk management, compliance, and client service, while operating as a distinct, separately capitalized banking entity with its own management, systems, and regulatory oversight.

What You Will Do:
The Director of Compliance and Community Reinvestment Act
(CRA) is accountable for defining and executing the Bank’s compliance and CRA strategy, including the design, execution, and ongoing sustainability of the CRA program. In this capacity, the role establishes foundational governance, policies, controls, and reporting structures appropriate for a newly formed bank. The position serves as a key second‑line leader, functions as an escalation point for material compliance and CRA matters, and partners closely with senior management to embed compliance and CRA strategy into business planning, product development, and operational build‑out.

This position manages engagement with regulatory agencies and serves as a bank representative in examinations related to consumer compliance and CRA, while coordinating with and supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in preparing the Bank for initial and subsequent supervisory activities.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Functional Ownership and Accountability – Accountable for the effectiveness and sustainability of the Bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and CRA program, including enterprise risk identification, control design, independent testing coordination, and issue remediation.
  • CMS Oversight – Leads the strategic direction, design, execution, and ongoing effectiveness of the CMS, ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws, regulatory requirements, and supervisory expectations. Establishes and oversees governance frameworks, policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and issue management.
  • Acts as an independent second-line control function with authority to challenge, escalate, and require corrective action where risks are identified, providing objective oversight to senior management and the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Regulatory Change Management & Advisory – Oversees the Bank’s regulatory change management process for consumer compliance and CRA, including identifying, assessing, and implementing regulatory developments. Translates regulatory changes into actionable strategies, policy updates, and control enhancements.
  • Provides expert guidance to business leaders on products, services, delivery channels, and third-party relationships; exercises challenge and escalation authority; and ensures compliance and CRA risks are proactively assessed and incorporated into decision-making and growth initiatives.
  • Regulatory & Exam Management – Serves as a primary subject matter expert during regulatory examinations, leading preparation, managing responses, and representing the Bank with regulators. Ensures governance frameworks remain current, robust, and exam-ready, and drives timely, sustainable remediation of findings.
  • Leadership & Second-Line Oversight – Provides senior leadership and subject matter expertise, reinforcing a strong culture of governance and regulatory accountability. Advises executive management on compliance and CRA strategy, risk posture, and regulatory expectations. Serves as a delegate to the Chief Compliance Officer and will build and lead a high-performing compliance and CRA team as the Bank grows.
  • Consumer Complaint & UDAP Oversight – Oversees the consumer complaint management framework, ensuring complaints are captured, investigated, resolved, and reported appropriately. Analyzes trends and root causes to identify emerging risks, including UDAP and fair lending, and recommends enhancements to controls and practices to promote fair consumer outcomes.
