Primary Purpose
Provide leadership and strategic support to partner school systems in the implementation of the LIFT (Leadership & Instructional Foundations for Texas) framework. The LIFT District Coach works collaboratively with district leaders, LIFT Campus Coaches, and the LIFT Lead to strengthen instructional systems, support adoption of high-quality instructional materials, and improve student outcomes.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Texas educator certification required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of effective instructional systems, PLC structures, and coaching practices
- Understanding of HQIM implementation and system-level change management
- Ability to analyze data and use it to drive decision-making
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in education
- Minimum of 2 years in instructional coaching, campus leadership, or district leadership
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Needs Assessment and Planning
- Assess district context, systems, and readiness to implement LIFT supports
- Facilitate needs assessments and identify priority areas for improvement
- Collaborate with district leaders to develop and maintain a multi-year action plan aligned to LIFT goals
- Implementation and Support
- Coordinate and deliver professional learning, coaching, and implementation support for district leaders
- Support LIFT Campus Coaches in their work with campus leaders and teachers
- Ensure alignment of supports across system, campus, and classroom levels
- Coaching and Capacity Building
- Provide ongoing coaching to district leaders to strengthen instructional systems and practices
- Build capacity of leaders and coaches through job-embedded support and feedback
- Promote continuous improvement and shared ownership of instructional practices
- Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze data to monitor implementation and student outcomes
- Lead progress monitoring meetings with district leaders and coaching teams
- Adjust strategies and supports based on data and identified needs
- Collaboration and Communication
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with district staff and ESC personnel
- Communicate program expectations, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders
- Collaborate with the LIFT Lead to ensure program fidelity and effectiveness
Supervisory Responsibilities
None (may provide guidance and support to LIFT Campus Coaches)
