      Madison County School District is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and passionate full-time self-contained classroom teacher.
       
      Reports To:  Principal
       
      Contract: Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education
       
      Qualifications:  Candidates must hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education Adapted Curriculum and all Special Education content areas (Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, and Language Arts).  Applicants should demonstrate the ability to relate to and motivate all students with respect to learning styles to make learning meaningful, effective, contextual and involving interactions for the ongoing intellectual development of young minds.  Must be able to successfully integrate technology into the classroom while engaging students.  Prefer experience with working with students with autism, EBD, and/or OHI.
       
      Performance Responsibilities:  
       
      01.  Must be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all assigned students for the school calendar year.
       
      02.  Implement a pro-active, consistent, and effective classroom management system to effectively instruct the class.
       
      03.  Manage students in crisis by using de-escalation techniques outlined in district training, including therapeutic physical intervention and by modeling effective social skills and anger management strategies for students.
       
      04.  Communicate with and update immediate supervisor and administration as needed concerning student behavior, and other incidents or information relative to student performance.
       
      05.  Must be a committed professional; guarding instructional time by demonstrated attendance.
       
      06.  Counsel with students and parents on learning and discipline problems as necessary.
       
      07.  Foster a positive learning environment and monitor student progress related to academic, emotional, social and vocational goals.
       
      08.  Provide direct behavioral/social/interpersonal skills instruction to assigned students as directed.
       
      09.  Modify and differentiate the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and assistive technologies.
       
      10.  Complete all records and reports on time and with accuracy.
       
      11.  Maintain satisfactory performance on TKES.
        
      12.  Analyze data to determine individual students' areas of strength and areas in need of improvement and use the data to influence instructional designs.
       
      13.  Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments.
       
      14.  Participate in Professional Development workshops and opportunities.
       
      15.  Perform all related duties as assigned and as circumstances require.
