Job Description

Athletic Director

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five years of experience in high school athletic administration
  • Knowledge of Michigan High School Athletics Association rules and regulations, and a commitment to following them
  • Knowledge of Title IX rules and regulations
  • An ability to plan, organize, and supervise all athletic programs comprised of multiple coaches and multiple athletic teams
  • A leadership style that will generate trust, confidence, and enthusiasm among students, staff members, and parents
  • A commitment to high expectations for self, students, and staff
  • A commitment to the purpose of education-based athletics
  • Integrity, poise, and the ability to clearly articulate information and ideas verbally and in writing
  • Ability to recognize and resolve conflicts
  • A strong and proven work ethic
  • This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Sports Administration
  • Michigan School Administrator certification or NIAAA certification
  • Previous coaching experience at the high school level.  Varsity head coaching experience preferred
  • Experience in mentoring and evaluation of coaches

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience
