The Educational Aide position in the Natural Sciences office plays a vital role in promoting the mission of the department. They will be performing a verity of clerical and professional tasks related to the efficient functioning of the department main office. They should be able to work independently and in a team environment. This student assistant position is a customer service-oriented job and student will gain valuable customer service and professional skills in their position.Job Description
Responsibilities and duties:
- Provide coverage of the front desk and phones and greet all callers and visitors in a courteous, polite and professional manner.
- Take accurate messages as needed
- Answering phones, transferring callers to staff or professors
- Making copies and scanning for the office
- Running errands: delivering items to other offices
- Maintaining office supplies for the department
- Interacting with the public, students, staff and faculty to provide appropriate information regarding operations of the department and office.
- Assist various areas of the department such as the museum, planetarium, and science labs.
Qualifications
Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College Student, in good academic and behavioral standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours. A criminal background check will be conducted.

- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
- Customer Service - ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
- Detail Oriented - Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ethics - able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related actions
