EXPERIENCED ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – ON‑CALL STIPEND 

Fogelman is hiring an experienced Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at Retreat at Steeplechase Apartments located in Houston.   

The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of Maintenance experience in the multifamily industry, is proficient in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical & Appliances, HVAC & CPO certified, and strong with vendor relations and managing turns for the property. Yardi & HappyCo experience a plus. Valid Driver’s License required for the position. 

 

SUMMARY

The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor maintains efficient operation and upkeep of the property buildings and grounds.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for completing all service requests as assigned.
  • Responsible for the completion of all make-ready units.
  • Supervise vendors and contractors; verify completion and quality of work before approval
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company
  • Responsible for supplying all personal tools.
  • Responsible for cleaning work area, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, pool, fire safety and other systems
  • Escalate unresolved service issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Participates in "on call" rotation and responds to emergency calls as needed.
  • Responsible for positive communications with residents, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for after-hours emergencies and on-call support
  • Step in for the maintenance supervisor during their absence to ensure continuity of operations
  • Be aware of and operate within company safety policies at all times.
  • Weekend work may be required.
  • Adhere to all company policies including but not limited to safety and Fair Housing.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Three years of experience in apartment maintenance preferred.
  • HVAC experience with certification (Type 1 & 2 or Universal).
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred.
  • Proficient in the following areas: plumbing, HVAC, electrical and appliance repair.
  • Proficient in use of computers and online applications.
  • Working knowledge of property systems such as Yardi, Entrata, and HappyCo preferred.
  • Depending on the property, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance may be required.
