Responsibilities:
The Industrial Specification Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and growing profitable revenues through the specification of ThermOmegaTech products. The two paths for growth are via winning specifications within national manufacturing facility designers and working with authorized Industrial distributors to win corporate specifications at firms that operate nationwide. This position is an outside technical sales role that will require regular travel to visit both existing and prospective customers.
Business Development:
- Identifying strategic facility designers nationwide that are subcontracted within target industries such as chemical processing, food processing, oil refining, and pulp/paper manufacturing.
- Establishing relationships, introducing ThermOmegaTech products, and providing details on the compelling value proposition.
Specification Management:
- Working hand-in-hand with authorized Industrial distributors to evolve strategic wins into corporate specifications that are followed when new facilities are designed and built.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive technical and commercial proposals to secure new specifications and product qualifications.
- Partnering with internal business partners to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities at facility designers and national corporations.
- Developing strong relationships with customer leadership including key decision makers and buying influencers through regular face-to-face meetings at their facilities and follow-up communications
Sales:
- Creating and presenting compelling technical and commercial proposals that will result in new customer specifications and qualifications of ThermOmegaTech’s products.
- Utilizing a value-added, problem-solving sales approach to specify ThermOmegaTech’s products.
- Creating monthly & quarterly sales forecasts utilizing the company CRM and sales funnel tracking platforms.
- Identifying industry trends that could potentially influence ThermOmegaTech’s existing business levels.
- Investigating and reporting any customer requirements for new products.
- Participating in industry tradeshows and conferences to expand ThermOmegaTech’s position as a thought leader in the marketplace
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience selling technical products directly to industrial clients; experience with mechanically actuated valves is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial procurement practices and requirements for technical products
- Ability to manage several opportunities simultaneously for multiple customers
- Experience performing market research and cold calling/prospecting to pursue potential customer targets
- Comfort and experience with a Solution Selling sales approach for industrial customers
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability and interest to understand how our products work
- Good organization and time management skills, specifically focused on territory management
- Willingness to travel 50%+ (including overnights).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to independently handle both technical and commercial discussions
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially in proposal and presentation development
- Strong team player, willing to pitch in wherever needed to help the organization
- Ability to work independently
