Job Description

Position: Assistant Field Hockey Coach (SY 26-27) (Stipend)


Department: Athletics 


Reports to: Director of Athletics              


Affiliation: Unit A, Section F 


Salary range: $4,945 -$5,897 stipend


Time Commitment:



  • Six days a week

  • Twenty to twenty-five hours a week

  • Three games a week

  • Season Length- 8/24/2026-11/23/2026


Number of Positions: 3


This is a stipend position.


 


SUMMARY


The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding assistant coach to coach the field hockey team for the 2025-2026 school year. WPS is dedicated to excellence, equity, and community. Be a part of creating a bright future for WPS students. 


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coach the team they are assigned to.

  • Assume the duties of the head coach when the head coach is not present.

  • Assist in coaching at practices and games.

  • Implement practice plans.

  • Oversee scouting of opposition.

  • Be a liaison between the captains and the head coach.

  • Coordinate with the athletic office on rosters, awards, and medical issues.


 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • CPR certified

  • NFHS concussion course completed


 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience in the coaching field hockey

  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
