Activities Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and needs of participants
- Assist in developing activity schedules and programs that promote social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation
- Support residents or clients in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good condition
- Document participation and feedback to evaluate and improve activity programs
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure activities align with overall care or service goals
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and engagement
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in recreational therapy or activity coordination are a plus
- Previous experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or in a healthcare or community setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm for organizing engaging activities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and ability to handle emergency situations if necessary
