This position is for School Year 2026-2027

This position is split between Ladd and Weller Elementary Schools and requires travel between these school sites. This is a districtwide position, and assigned locations may be subject to change based on district needs.

Job summary: 

Instructs students in the appropriate district curriculum, creates a positive and effective learning environment for all students, and provides strong academic, social, physical, and emotional growth for all students.

This position provides instrumental music to 5th-grade students, instructing in either Band or Orchestra as determined by the successful candidate's area of expertise.

Retirement: State of Alaska TRS
Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA)
Salary: Determined by the FEA Negotiated Agreement 
Contract Length: Minimum of 184 days

Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Alaska Initial, Professional, or Master teaching certificate with a music endorsement.
3. Working knowledge of the voice at the elementary school level.
