Job Description:
Primary Duties:
- Develop and implement supplier quality standards and metrics to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
- Lead supplier audits and qualification processes, collaborating with procurement and engineering teams to approve new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance through data analysis, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Resolve supplier-related quality issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
- Partner with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Procurement) to address quality concerns and support product reliability.
- Prepare and present supplier quality reports and KPIs to leadership.
- Manage and coach Quality Analysts, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality systems management, including 2+ years in a leadership role; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred:
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
- Experience with ISO 9001, auditing, and statistical process control.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions:
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and supplier quality principles.
- Ability to lead audits and assess supplier compliance.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing environments with exposure to seasonal temperature changes, dust, and noise.
- Occasional travel to supplier facilities.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
