Job Description

Electrical Engineer

Salamander Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our field installation, commissioning, and servicing of downhole heater systems and associated surface electrical equipment. This is a hands-on field role suited for professionals with oilfield electrical experience who want broader technical exposure and direct influence on field execution.

This position requires on-site presence.
 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission low- and medium-voltage equipment (HCU, transformers, junction boxes, cabling)
  • Support system startup and commissioning activities
  • Oversee or support medium-voltage splicing and terminations
  • Troubleshoot recurring electrical issues and implement practical field solutions
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled testing
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to customers and field crews
  • Contribute to improving field procedures and equipment reliability

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of oil & gas electrical field experience
  • Experience with control panels, switchgear, PLC and/or SCR systems

Core Competencies:

  • Medium-voltage splicing and termination exposure preferred
  • Background in service company, operator, downstream, onshore or offshore environments
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30–60%, project dependent)
  • Technical or engineering degree preferred, strong field experience highly valued
