INDTRODUCTION
Gateways Normandie Village East is a residential treatment program in Downtown Los Angeles that provides housing and mental health support for adults ages 18–59 transitioning from inpatient psychiatric care or other higher levels of treatment. The program offers a structured and supportive living environment where residents receive therapeutic services, skill development, and individualized support to help them stabilize, build independence, and successfully reintegrate into the community.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Assists the Program Director in supervision of staff as assigned and has oversight of clinical operations.
An active CA LCSW license with a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES
- Serves as head of service in absence of the Program Director
- Liaison between administrative, clinical/program staff and other agencies
- Supervises assigned staff, including provision of clinical supervision hours for staff/interns who are BBS registered
- Assists Program Director in clinical program development
- Recruits and interviews applicants for clinical positions
- Plans and implements clinical training for staff
- Assists in clinical training and supervising new therapists and case aides
- Maintains detailed knowledge of, and monitors compliance with, DMH and Gateways’ documentation requirements and service delivery benchmarks
- Participates in educational seminars for the department
- Assists with the development, maintenance and evaluation of policies and procedures
- Writes reports and presentations as required
- Attends inter/intra-agency meetings for networking and information sharing
- Keeps program personnel informed of professional and community trends, issues, concerns and requests
- Participates in staff and treatment team meetings and contributes pertinent information
- Assist other programs as necessary
- Works independently
- Provides on call coverage for emergency consultation and intervention outside of regular work hours
- Assists in crisis situations as needed and helps to facilitate client transfers to higher levels of care, when needed/indicated
- Develops, implements and monitors integrity of group schedule
- May complete client assessments for placement. (e.g. MDs, hospitals, etc)
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops corrective action plans for staff in collaboration with the Program Director and Chief Human Resources Officer
- Performs other duties as assigned
