Marketing & Customer Relationships Intern
Overview
This internship is designed for a marketing major interested in building practical, real-world skills related to customer relationships, brand consistency, and digital customer experiences.
The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and receive ongoing mentorship, coaching, and feedback, with a strong focus on applying brand standards in customer-facing materials and platforms. The role will also support broader marketing initiatives, campaigns, and projects focused on lead generation, brand awareness, and brand reputation through research, content support, and cross-functional collaboration.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed foundational marketing and customer engagement skills, including:
Applying brand guidelines consistently across digital and print materials
Understanding how marketing supports customer relationships, education, and engagement and new business growth
Using template-based software tools to manage and organize customer and prospect facing resources
Collaborating with team members and incorporating feedback into marketing deliverables
Supporting a wide range of marketing projects and initiatives that contribute to lead generation and brand awareness
Learning how research, messaging, and content development support brand reputation and sales pipeline growth.
What You’ll Learn and Experience
Through hands-on projects and guided support, the intern will gain experience in digital content management, customer education, and brand application, while learning how thoughtful marketing supports strong and trusted customer relationships. This intern will also gain exposure to how marketing teams prioritize, execute and manage projects that support business growth and brand visibility.

While specific tasks may evolve, the internship is expected to include work aligned with the following project types:
Marketing Campaign and Project Support
Assisting with drafting, editing, and proofreading marketing materials
Conducting marketing or industry research to support campaign planning and content development
Assisting with reporting and metrics tasks to support Marketing performance tracking
Supporting marketing campaigns, projects and initiatives tied to lead generation and brand awareness efforts
Customer Education & Accessibility Initiative
Learning how to review and update digital client-facing documents and educational materials
Applying accessibility standards and best practices to ensure materials are inclusive and compliant
Understanding how accessible design strengthens customer trust and experience
Client Resource Hub & Digital Experience Project
Supporting updates to a digital Client Resource Hub using template-based content-building software
Assisting with customer-facing portal content, layout, and visual consistency
Mentorship & Support
One-on-one coaching and regular check-ins
Guidance on applying brand guidelines and marketing best practices
Opportunities to ask questions, try new approaches, and learn through feedback
Exposure to how marketing supports long-term customer relationships and new business development
Exposure to digital marketing tools including CRMs, web/blog content management systems, email/social media marketing platforms and more.
Ideal Candidate
Current undergraduate student majoring in Marketing or a related field
Strong interest in customer experience, digital content, and brand consistency
Comfortable learning new tools and adapting to evolving project needs
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Basic proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and AI Tools (LLMs). Canva experience is a plus.
