Description

PERFORMANCE ABILITIES:

  • Observes assigned work hours.
  • Performs in a manner that reflects positively on the school.
  1. Performance Responsibilities
  • Administers medication as prescribed by physicians or requested by parents in a safe and timely manner, records such information in OnCampus, and informs parents of any significant medical findings.
  • Manages the care of several students with chronic conditions such as Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma, Anaphylactic Food Allergies, and Epilepsy throughout the school day.
  • Triages students in the clinic and provides care based on level of acuity.
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment in the clinic.
  • Provides first aid and basic nursing care to students and employees.
  • Shares observations of students with faculty and/or guidance counselor to identify potential issues.
  • Secures the assistance of emergency personnel when warranted.
  • Assists receptionist with front desk responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignment.
  • Maintains professionalism in dress, speech and manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.  The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

Qualifications


POSITION STATUS:  7:30am to 4:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree or several years of medical related experience (LPN, Paramedic, or RN preferred)
  • Additional training/ experience in computer applications desired
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of: Modern office practices and procedures, including correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and mathematical concepts; standard office machines and equipment, including computers and proficiency in a variety of related application software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc.); collection of data and information. Skills/Ability to: Work independently and with minimal supervision in a multi-task environment of frequent interruptions and changes in task priority; accurately perform simple mathematical calculations; meet stringent deadlines; communicate effectively in oral and written form; effectively operate a computer and use appropriate application software; understand and follow oral and written directions; deal effectively and professionally with students, parents, school employees, and the general public.
