Job Description
The Department of Plant Operations Maintenance Mechanic/Security provides for the ongoing safety, security and operation of all main hospital and outlying clinic systems, utilities, facilities and equipment. Maintains all hospital and clinic properties through repair, preventative maintenance, groundskeeping and safety inspections in accordance Hospital standards.
Education And Credentials
High school diploma or GED required required. Graduate of a trade school strongly preferred. Valid and unrestricted New York State Driver License required.
Experience
Experience in basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry required. Advanced skills in the building trades or construction preferred. Must conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner; maintain good rapport with fellow workers, supervisors, administrations, nursing staff, patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel; must be relied upon to work independently and unsupervised exercising good judgment; verbal and written abilities are required to accept and comprehend orders; must complete tasks despite frequent interruptions.
