SPED ESY Program 

 

Position: Special Education Teachers  (up to 40)

                       

Reports to:     Building Administrator

 

Dates of Employment:

 

• 25 days - Students attend July 6 - July 31 Monday- Friday  


• 4 hours per day (time TBD- mornings)


• includes 20 hours (5 days) of curriculum classroom prep and professional development prior to program start June 29-July 3 

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

 

• At least three (3) years successful teaching experience preferred


• Special education teachers: certification appropriate for grade level

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Work with ESY staff to provide support and professional consultation on integrating students with special needs into the summer school program.


• Provide instruction and/or assistance to special education students incorporating curricula and objectives that extend the regular school day curriculum and meet the Individualized Education Program of said students.


• Plan lessons/activities/accommodations as required and/or necessary.


• Provide student’s opportunities to interact socially with other students in a variety of academic and enrichment programs..


• Report on student progress to Program Administrators, Director of Special Education and Assistant Directors of Special Education


• Maintain student attendance and student records


• Complete and submit Progress Reports at the end of ESY


• Perform such tasks as related to the toals and objectives of the Extended School Year Programming 

 

Salary- $45 per hour per contract
