Job Description

Responsible for developing or testing computer software applications, systems or services. Conduct research and lead research collaborations that yield new insights, theories, and analyses. Evaluate data, algorithms, and prototypes that advance state-of-the-art technology. Develop reports, dashboards, tabular models and analytical insights to drive business success. Produce business intelligence (BI) information by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports. Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. Design and build BI solutions that improve Microsoft products. Analyze data using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Document and share best practices for BI and reporting, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of Microsoft products. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.

Education: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science; Business Analytics; Data Analytics; Busess Intelligence;Statistics; or related.

 

Experience: Requires two (2) years of data analysis and/or data management experience.

 

Two (2) years in each of the following: 1. SQL and/or T-SQL 2. ETL3. Big Data 4. Data Structures 5. Algorithms Requires 6 months in each of the following skills: 6. Pipeline orchestration 7. Git

The offered base pay range for this specific position (ODP10025232254610), in Redmond, WA, is $178,006.00 - $208,006.00 per year.

 

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depend on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional reward, including merits increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employer’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others.
