Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support the educational needs of students at Orange County High. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to facilitate learning, assist in classroom management, and provide individualized support to students. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and social development in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing instructional activities and lesson plans.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to understand and engage with the curriculum.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and participation, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral issues as they arise.
- Prepare instructional materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Assist in the administration of assessments and standardized tests.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to address student needs and promote a supportive educational environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
- Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to adapt to varying student needs and learning styles.
- Proficiency in technology and educational software applications.
- Must pass background checks and meet any state or local certification requirements.
