About Mid States Truss Inc:

Mid States Truss was founded in 1965 as part of the Crane Johnson Lumber Companies and became an employee-owned company in 2022. The same great staff are now employee owners providing trusses and related products for residential and commercial construction alike.

Pay: Starting at $21+ DOE

Hiring Bonus:

• $1,000 after 6 months

• $1,000 after 1 year

• $1,000 after 2 years

• $1,000 after 3 years

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Other Information:

• Starting Wage: $21+DOE

• 5 Day Non-Seasonal Work Week: (40 hours)

• 6 Day Seasonal Work Week: (50-55 hours)

Required Experience:

• Job related experience preferred

• Proficient at reading tape measure and basic math

• Ability to read technical drawings preferred

• Ability to learn to operate equipment such as various saws, nail guns, staplers, presses, banders, forklifts, and pallet jacks

Working Conditions:

• Extreme all-weather conditions (indoor/outdoor all types of weather and temperatures)

• Perform work and walk on uneven surfaces

• Loud noise and fumes

• Safety-sensitive work environment

• Work on and around heavy/moving machinery

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review shop orders and layout required materials

• Ability to read shop drawings/prints

• Ability to add number of boards

• Verify material dimensions for accuracy

• Operate hand/power tools and machinery to assemble roof and floor trusses

• Assemble roof and floor trusses to design specifications

• Track job names/numbers and time spent on each job throughout the entire workday

• Assist with snow/ice removal

• Ability to maintain a schedule of cleaning and work with minimal supervision

• Ability to perform moderately strenuous manual labor for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day)

• Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisory staff

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
