At our US MFG in Whitsett, NC, we drive excellence in manufacturing and logistics to support our Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Server Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize server production operations. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality output, process efficiency, and alignment with Lenovo’s global manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
Manufacturing Process Development:
Design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixtures.
Supplier and Manufacturing Management:
Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processes.
Documentation and Compliance:
Prepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Risk Management:
Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing floor.
Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
Project Management: Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Systems software, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in server manufacturing or technical production.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven leadership in cross-functional and cross-geo projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with Linux systems, server hardware, and enterprise fulfillment operations.
