The Back of House Team Leader is responsible for leading shift execution in the kitchen, ensuring excellence in food quality, food safety, speed, and accuracy. This role owns real-time performance during their shift by directing team members, maintaining standards, and delivering consistent results.This position is highly operational and leadership-focused, serving as the bridge between BOH Directors and Team Members while reinforcing systems, coaching performance, and protecting the Chick-fil-A brand.

Primary Purpose
To lead the Back of House during shifts with excellence—ensuring food is safe, high quality, accurate, and delivered with speed through strong leadership and disciplined execution.

Direct Responsibilities
1. Shift Leadership & Execution
- Lead and direct BOH team members during assigned shifts.
- Assign positions and adjust staffing based on volume and demand.
- Ensure smooth kitchen flow and communication with FOH.
- Make real-time decisions to maintain speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
2. Food Quality Standards
- Ensure all products meet Chick-fil-A standards for taste, appearance, and accuracy.
- Monitor portioning, recipe adherence, and build consistency.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the shift.
- Address quality issues immediately through coaching and correction.
3. Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with food safety procedures and standards.
- Monitor holding times, temperatures, and proper food handling.
- Ensure completion of required food safety checklists (SDCs, logs, etc.).
- Maintain readiness for audits and inspections at all times.
4. Team Coaching & Development
- Coach team members in real time on performance and standards.
- Reinforce training and proper execution of systems.
- Provide feedback that is clear, direct, and encouraging.
- Identify high-performing team members and support development.
5. Cleanliness, Organization & Stewardship
- Ensure all kitchen areas are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Maintain proper equipment use and care.
- Support waste reduction and food cost awareness.
- Ensure shift handoffs are clean and prepared for the next team.
