Job Description

Department: Maintenance              

Job Status: Full Time/Weather Dependent

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Samuel Snyder

Grade/Level: $30-$42/hr. DOE

Amount of Travel Required: None

 

Work Schedule           

Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays. 7:00am to 5:30pm, hours & days can vary based upon Owner/GC requirements and workload.

Elite Surface Infrastructure Overview

Elite Surface Infrastructure (ESI) is a growing company located in Englewood Colorado and has been working along the Colorado front range since 1998. ESI is one of the largest construction companies in Colorado that self-performs a variety of services including Underground Utilities, Milling, Asphalt, Paving, Grading, Concrete, and Earthwork for Infrastructure and Infrastructure Improvement Projects in the commercial, municipal, and federal sectors.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Diagnose, adjust, and repair heavy machinery and vehicles, such as semi-tractors, loaders, excavators, and other earth moving heavy equipment in the field. CDL preferred but not required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

  • Record details of repairs made, and parts used.
  • Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation, and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain, and repair heavy machinery and vehicles, such as excavators, semi-tractors, loaders, scrapers, and machine components.
  • Inspect and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with operators to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Dismantle defective machines for repair, using personal hand tools.
  • Test and diagnose electrical components and wiring.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
  • Clean and lubricate parts.
  • Tune or overhaul engines.
  • Must have tools and equipment for field repair of large machinery.
  • Use smart phone and/or laptop to make a record of repairs made, labor time, and parts used.
  • Diagnose, repair, or replace hydraulic systems and or components.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 5 plus years of experience in heavy equipment repair, associate degree (two-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Diesel Mechanics
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening (required for access onto military and high security areas)
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft office, scheduling software and standard functions of transferring, saving, and imputing of data on a computer.
