    JOB DESCRIPTION
     

    Position Title: Administrator - Assistant Principal - 10 month

    Location:      Brigham & Sugar Creek Early Learning

    Department:    School Administration

    Reports to:      Building Principal

    FLSA Class:    Exempt

     

    SUMMARY

     

    Assist the Building Principals in providing the leadership necessary to assure an educational environment which is safe, attractive, pleasant, and a productive place in which to work and learn. Support the certified staff as they seek to meet the needs of each student.

     

    DUTIES

    1. Supervise and evaluate assigned certified and non-certified staff members. Recruit, select and orient all new personnel.
    2. Enforce student handbook and assign consequences for handbook infractions.
    3. Supervise custodians and facility maintenance. Maintain and order equipment and supplies.
    4. Coordinate substitute teachers.
    5. Assist the principal with professional development.
    6. Prepare reports for District or other personnel as needed.
    7. Create and maintain master schedule.
    8. Supervise and complete scheduling of all teaching assistants.
    9. Schedule facility use by school and outside groups.
    10. Evaluate student transcripts
    11. Supervise extracurricular events as assigned by building principal.
    12. Attend IEP meeting assigned by case managers.
    13. Supervise lunchroom and Saturday Supervised Study as assigned.
    14. Work with School Resource Officer on criminal investigations involving students and supervise DCFS interviews involving students.
    15. Prepare data/reports for other District personnel.
    16. Perform other such duties and assume other such responsibilities as the principal assigns.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Must have valid teaching certificate, master's degree in school administration, Type 75 certification, four years teaching and/or school administrative experience; such alternatives to the prior that the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
    2. Ability to manage others, communicate and work well with parents, students, teachers, staff and other school and District administrators is essential.
    3. Strong organizational, time management and conflict resolution skills are necessary.



     

    Compensation:

    Salary range is $70,700 to $89,375 annually

    Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision, Sick Days, Personal Days and Employee Assistance Program.
