EARLY CHILDHOOD AIDE BILINGUAL - SUBSTITUTE

Per Diem, Hourly $17.30 - $20.76/hour

The Role: As an Early Childhood Aide Sub, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You will work closely with them in a classroom setting, assisting with daily living activities, and work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and team members. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a tangible difference.

What You'll Do:

  • Set up and maintain classroom materials and supplies
  • Assist with bussing at arrival and dismissal
  • Follow lead of classroom teacher
  • Implement outlined behavior treatment plans
  • Supervise children during classroom activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of outlined curriculum and IFSP/IEP goals
  • Assist children in all daily living activities
  • Work collaboratively with classroom staff and team members
  • Provide verbal translation as needed for staff, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Translate written documents as needed for families and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to DDI: 

  • High School Diploma required
  • Thorough knowledge of English (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc) as well as fluency (both verbal and written) in the second language.

What You Must Be Able to Do: 

  • Modify the area to secure the safety of children
  • Move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place child on changing table
  • Move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopement
  • Position self or maneuver classroom to facilitate student instruction in classroom and playground environment
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and detect/respond to fire alarms Ascend and descend stairs with railing
