    The Westbrook School Department is seeking a dynamic, caring and collaborative half-time Multilingual Teacher for our new Westbrook Public Pre-K Program, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will have, or be eligible for, Maine D.O.E Multilingual Certificate #660. Experience working with preschool aged children along with knowledge of the PreK for Me Curriculum is preferred.

Currently, 25% of our total student population in Westbrook is identified as Multilingual Learners (MLs), representing 42 birth countries and 28 different primary languages.     With the new Westbrook Public Pre-K Program, we will continue to prioritize an inclusive model for our MLs. The half-time ML Pre-K Teacher will serve as a collaborative co-teacher within the general education preschool classroom, partnering closely with classroom teachers to design and deliver instruction that supports both language development and early childhood learning. The ML Pre-K Teacher will leverage their expertise in second language acquisition and early childhood best practices to scaffold instruction, differentiate learning experiences and promote meaningful access to the Pre-K curriculum for MLs.
