A Snapshot of Your Day


The HSE Coordinator will support Voith Hydro’s field service operations across the EMEA region by ensuring robust Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance and by promoting a culture of proactive risk management. This remote role is based in Bucharest, Romania, and involves supporting on-site HSE implementation, attending technical and design-related safety reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and client representatives to ensure HSE is embedded across all stages of project execution.


How You'll Make an Impact


 



  • Support to EMEA Field Service Sites


- Provide remote HSE support to multiple Voith Hydro project sites across EMEA, including risk assessments, compliance reviews, and safety documentation.


- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific HSE Plans and Method Statements.


- Coordinate remotely with site HSE Advisors to ensure alignment with the client, Voith Hydro standards and local regulations.


 



  • Client Engagement & Design Phase Participation:


 - Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and Safety in Design (SID) workshops with clients, providing HSE input from early design through to commissioning.


- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure ALARP principles and safe design are considered.


- Document and follow up on safety actions and design mitigations raised during technical reviews.


 



  • Incident Prevention & Risk Management:


- Review and analyze risk assessments, lifting plans, and hazardous work permits to ensure adequacy.


- Monitor incident reports, identify trends, and propose preventive measures in collaboration with the Head of HSE.


- Support the rollout of Voith Hydro Life Saving Rules and other key HSE campaigns.


 



  • Regulatory Compliance & Standards:


- Maintain awareness of HSE legislation and standards relevant to the EMEA region, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.


- Ensure project documentation reflects current legal and corporate HSE requirements.


- Support audits, both internal and external, through coordination, documentation review, and follow-up.


 



  • Reporting & Documentation:


- Contribute to monthly regional HSE reporting with data from supported sites.


- Maintain an up-to-date tracker for project-specific HSE actions, including SID and risk control measures.


- Support the review and validation of contractor HSE documents and procedures.


 



  • Safety Culture Enhancement & HSE Training


- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across supported sites and teams.


- Champion Voith Hydro’s Life Saving Rules (VH LSRs) and ensure their understanding and implementation at all project levels.


- Engage with teams during remote toolbox talks, virtual meetings, and campaigns to reinforce safe behaviors.


- Support the development and delivery of HSE training programs, including inductions, refresher sessions, and specific training aligned with project needs.


- Monitor training compliance and maintain accurate HSE training records in collaboration with project teams.


What You Bring





    • Degree in relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent professional qualification and experience

    • Minimum 5 years of HSE-related experience, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or field service environments.

    • Recognized HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH IGC or equivalent).

    • Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID, or similar design safety reviews.

    • Familiarity with EMEA HSE regulations and good understanding of ISO standards.

    • Certification in Risk Management or Safety in Design.

    • Previous experience in a multinational environment.

    • Fluency in English; other EMEA languages are a plus.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in virtual environments.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different projects and regions.

    • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to safety documentation.

    • Comfortable participating in technical safety reviews and client-facing meetings.

    • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across time zones.
