The Production Specialist position will earns competitive pay of $18.95/ hr. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
As a Production Specialist, you spend your day preparing and setting up equipment and staging needs for productions and events. Your job is essential to the city, you oversee and train interns in design, construction, and preparation of lighting and sound to be used in music concert and theatrical productions. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include seeking theatrical and other performing arts productions for the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, Amphitheater and other venues. You also attend technical rehearsals and sound checks. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in art production and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
- Required Education: Associate of Arts
- Education Preference: Bachelor of Art in Audio Design, Audio and Music Technology or related field.
- Educational Substitute: Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of professional level experience in theatrical and music engineering production.
- Experience Preferred: Five (5) years of professional level experience in theatrical and music engineering production and related fields.
- Requires a working knowledge of theater production, stage management, sound, and light management as well as safety procedures and practices as applied to theater, concert, and staging production
- Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
