Asset Management Analyst, Intern
Objective
The Asset Management Analyst, Intern supports the Asset Management and Operations teams through a paid internship. This role assists in executing strategic business plans, conducting market research, analyzing financial data, and preparing reports and presentations. The internship provides exposure to the real estate investment industry along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Maintain and update portfolio rollups in MS Excel.
Prepare financial reporting packages and presentation materials for senior management, partners, and third-party clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Track, analyze, forecast, and reforecast financial performance trends and business plan execution.
Performance Analysis
Utilize Business Intelligence platforms and vendor dashboards to monitor operational performance.
Track and forecast capital projects and renovation progress to ensure delivery aligns with budget and schedule.
Investor Relations
Prepare investor reports and respond to inbound investor inquiries as directed.
Special Projects & Additional Duties
Assist with analysis of property sectors, real estate trends, and broader economic conditions.
Support the Asset Manager with dispositions and refinance requests across the portfolio.
Complete special projects and additional assignments as needed.
Abilities / Qualifications
Strong judgment and ability to meet targets under pressure while ensuring successful project completion.
Excellent multitasking ability and strong attention to detail to maintain accuracy of project deliverables.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Highly organized self-starter with the ability to take direction and follow through on tasks to meet deadlines.
Currently enrolled in an MBA program with an emphasis in Finance, Business, and/or Real Estate preferred.
1–4 years of relevant experience, with multifamily real estate experience preferred but not required.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; advanced Excel skills preferred.
Previous exposure to real estate analytics and business intelligence platforms is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and adaptability.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to move freely around the office for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
