Job Description

Darigold Boise is going through a major expansion and recruiting for a variety of new positions including two motivated and skilled bulk plant night shift mix makers to be a part of Darigold’s Boise Team. The bulk milk mix maker must possess the desire and ability to manage milk processing operations in an accurate, efficient, and safe manner. The ideal candidate for this role excels in working in a fast paced, rigorous environment, is a team player, and thrives in a highly responsible role.

Schedule: Thursday-Saturday and half of Wednesdays from 6:00am- 6:00pm

Pay Rate: $25.40 

This position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, in conformance with the position’s Standard Operating Procedures, and in accordance with facility training sessions and materials. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the Plant Quality Manager or the Plant Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

· Safe, efficient Milk Silo Management and Monitoring

· Safe, efficient operation of the separator/pasteurizer in accordance with the facility food safety program

· Safe, efficient and productive ingredient utilization

· Monitoring and maintaining Batching to Production Timeline

· Professional and effective communications with internal and external process customers

· Coordination of the production plan in alignment with the daily timeline; ensures proper planning and delivery of daily schedule

· Inspecting and monitoring the Batching process ensuring proper operation and delivery

· Manage and monitoring of numerous complex equipment units.

· Maintaining and monitoring any required ingredient inventory necessary to coordinate with 24 hour production plan

· Able to identify and solve problems in equipment and batching operations

· Develops a cross functional understanding of the Control Room Operations

· Ensures Regulatory Conformance and meets all requirements related to ingredient traceability.

· Demonstrates the ability to train others

· Maintaining organization of the work area and performing ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing and warehouse practices

· Cleaning and Sanitizing the Batching area in accordance with GMP and Food Safety standards; Completion Rate of 95% or better for all assigned MSS and PMS tasking

· Assisting Maintenance members in routine maintenance and repairs in the assigned area

· Collecting information and completing any required production reports accurately; maintaining any necessary paperwork in good order

· Maintaining efficiency standards set for the operating area; Contribute improvement ideas and initiatives; Work with a Waste Reduction Mentality

· Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ideal candidate would have experience in the Receiving/Processing side of the facility

· Must have capability to coordinate the Batching and Mixing of bulk milk product

· Must have familiarity with the Mix Making Process

· Understanding of Ingredient Inventory standards and Lot Tracking

· Understanding of operation SOPs and operation importance

· Ability to coordinate mixing operation with control room planning for contingency and variance

· Must maintain awareness and alertness to ensure expedient response to any anomalies in production

· Must be able to stand/walk for 12 hours; Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level and above shoulder height

· Ability to organize and analyze process problems; Strong Computer experience for reporting and communication

· Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions

· Must be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes, Quality Process, and Must be able to monitor and inspect product and equipment
