Container Test Technician, 2nd shift

Job Summary:
Responsible for performing all tasks related to heat treatment and testing of DOT and ASME pressure vessels. Must be able to perform minimum training requirements and all trainee operations.
Compensation: This position starts at $20/hour and is based on the candidate's experience.
This position will work second shift Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am
Primary Responsibilities:
Heat treats cylinders per SPI MA671.
Fills containers to appropriate level with argon gas.
Pressure and leak test DOT cylinders per SPI MA-066.
Prepares cylinders for paint using semi-automated bead blast machine.
Visually checks and removes foreign material or items from inside the containers.
Performs the 2x pressure tests of 20” and 24” containers for leaks per Fike specifications. Record results of the test, the date of the test and the lot/serial number of the containers on appropriate form.
Prepares, enters, and completes work order reporting, transactions, documentation, and Non-conformances in applicable software and computer systems.
Operates forklift in moving large items and successfully completes forklift certification.
Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.
Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to push, pull, stretch, bend, kneel and stoop. The employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee must be able properly lift 50 lbs. and move up to 100 pounds or more using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Also, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection may be required. High air pressure (2200psi) is present for testing purposes.
Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. One year or more manufacturing experience, vocational –tech training, or related work experience. Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings. Basic math and PC skills. Exposure to various hand tools. Ability to become forklift certified within 6 months.
PREFERRED: Exposure to measuring tools (calipers & gauges). Forklift experience. Pressure testing knowledge.
