The Impact:
The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in supporting Sweetspot Brands' efforts to drive retail growth. Responsible for various tasks, including bookkeeping, revenue and expense recording, and accounts payable management, the Staff Accountant contributes to the success of our Accountant and Finance Department initiatives. The Role:
- Process invoices into QuickBooks, track outstanding accounts payable invoices, and ensure timely payment of accounts payable invoices
- Coordinate with retail locations, general managers, and vendors to ensure accurate payment of invoices
- Process payments for retail stores' invoices via ACH/wire or physical check
- Manage, review, and process payments for employee expense reports
- Record journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, year-end processes, and adjustments
- Manage records, databases, and files for invoices, and other cost related areas
- Post and record daily revenue and sales entries
- Serves as backup for other senior accountants as needed
What You Bring:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Can follow decisions made by leadership, even when not in personal agreement with them
- Can be trusted to work independently and complete tasks on time without the need for micromanagement
- While we support work-life balance, we expect employees to prioritize and complete job duties during their paid work hours
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
- 1-3 years of accounting and finance experience
