Description

Ideal Candidate: A friendly and approachable professional with experience in guest-facing customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Provides prompt, courteous and efficient service to all guests
  •        Assist guests with Players Card applications
  •        Production of Players Cards using on-site equipment and disbursement to customers
  •        Production and disbursement of customer certificates for redemption of points
  •        Keep up-to-date and accurately provide local and visiting guests with current casino promotional information, special events, and gaming policies and procedures
  •        Keep informed of, and accurately promote, current local events and attractions to visiting guests
  •        Answers customer questions regarding Players Cards, promotional events and gaming policies and procedures
  •        Sales of promotional special event tickets
  • Computer data entry of customer information
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer and process accurate cash transactions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Understand and follow departmental policies and procedures, work rules and directions from a supervisor
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality of customer personal information received from Players Card applications
  • Requires knowledge and ability to operate computers and general office equipment utilized by the Gold Club
  • Requires typing experience and the ability to type
  • Must possess the ability to handle difficult guests and situations with tact, diplomacy and discretion
  • Must be able to keep up to date on memorize current promotions and events
  • Be adaptable, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Ability to complete tasks while maintaining attentive monitoring of guests at all times

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.  Experience working in casino marketing preferred.

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·         The ability to operate a cash register, computer, radios and general office equipment

·         Typing skills required

·         Ten-key skills preferred

 

AGE:

·         18 years of age or above

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand documents in written English form. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate responses to inquiries and complaints. Fluency in English required.  The ability to speak Spanish and other languages is preferred.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

General math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear.  The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and use hands to inspect, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and lift and carry items up to 30 pounds. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit.   

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment requires work in varying level of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.  Work is conducted indoors in a climate controlled environment.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to excessive and requires constant interaction with casino guests.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

Summary

Reports directly to the Gold Club Supervisor. The Gold Club Host is responsible for assisting all local and visiting guests with Players Card applications and Players Card questions, promoting Casino and local events and attractions ensuring that all guests have an enjoyable and satisfying experience in a professional environment. Must be able to work under pressure on occasions when serving multiple customers at once.  Requires dependable, punctual attendance and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
