    Excellent suburban school district located in Fairfield County; Connecticut announces a vacancy for a Special Education Supervisor effective August 21, 2026. This will be a 205-day position for the upcoming school year.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting special services teams to develop high quality programs for students with IEPs.
    • Developing creative solutions in high stress/challenging situations. 

    The successful candidate should have:

    • Kindness, intelligence, creativity, and a sense of humor.
    • Eligibility for Connecticut certification as an Intermediate Administrator. Endorsement 92 in addition to possessing certification as a special education teacher.
    • A record of superior performance as a special educator or pupil personnel services provider, and evidence of successful school leadership.
    • A strong academic record, both undergraduate and graduate.
    • Substantial knowledge of middle school curriculum and instruction, special education law, intellectual curiosity, strength in staff development, a respect for children and a love of learning.
    • Experience with co-teaching and similar inclusion models, as well as robust programming for students with a variety of needs and profiles.
    • Knowledge of the PPT process and developing IEPs.
    • Displaying grace and sensitivity when working with families of disabled students.
    • Understanding of developmental needs of middle school students.
    • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community.
    • A steady composure, grace under pressure and a willingness to try new things.

    Annual rate, based on administrative experience, from $138,068 to 163,366. Added $2,000 for a doctorate.
