Position Summary
Entry-level, travel-ready HVAC Technician to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on commercial, industrial, and refrigeration systems nationwide. Corporate office: Carmel, IN. Client locations across the United States. Typical rotation: 17 days on / 4 days off.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on rooftop units, HVAC controls, walk-in coolers/freezers, condensers, and related refrigeration equipment.
- Execute basic diagnostics, troubleshooting, and minor repairs, document findings and actions in the work order system.
- Replace filters, belts, lubrication, refrigerant leak checks, and basic electrical component swaps within Level 1 scope.
- Assist Level 2/3 technicians on larger repairs and follow company and site-specific safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inventory usage, and parts requests.
- Communicate professionally with clients and onsite contacts; represent company standards.
- Travel to client sites per rotation; manage personal and company tools and vehicle per company policy.
Qualifications
- HVAC technician certificate, trade school diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- EPA 608 Type II/Universal certification required. Universal EPA preferred
- Basic refrigeration experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license: willingness to travel nationally and stay in market per rotation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in varied environments, and follow safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout).
- Must be able to use ladders for work access this includes building access ladders, step ladders, and extension ladders.
- Good communication, time management, and basic computer/mobile app skills for work orders
Physical Demands
- Standing, bending, reaching, and lifting for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
- Climb ladders and work at heights up to 100 feet or more.
- Work from scaffolding and lifts.
- Drive a company vehicle (truck).
- Capable of driving long distances (up to 14 hours per day) between job sites.
- Perform other manual labor as required.
- Hourly pay with per diem and company paid travel.
- Training and advancement opportunities to Level 2/3 roles.
