    Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, innovative and passionate educator with strong leadership skills to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Social Studies Teacher at Horace Greeley High School beginning September 2, 2026.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of NYS Social Studies Learning Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.
    • Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
    • Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
    • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
    • Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
    • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons. 
    • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
    • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
    • Maintains high expectations for all students.
    • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.

    26/27 Salary Range: $73,019 - 155,921
