Position Summary

The Global & National Security Policy Institute (GNSPI) brings together global and national security-related courses, research, and programs at the University of New Mexico in a coherent whole under one umbrella to serve the entire institution—students and faculty—across its several campuses. The GNSPI mission is to develop future policy leaders skilled in understanding the interdependency of technology and business in establishing and implementing effective national security policy.

Our partnerships with New Mexico’s premier national laboratories provide the intellectual basis for understanding the threats to national security, particularly in technology and global “commons” (e.g., space, climate, food & water, and energy resources), and their role in international relations. Our graduates are educated in the consequences of the global diffusion of technology and communications. Our objective is to improve the Nation’s capacity to make ethical policy judgements about what should be done, and about what should not be done. We intend to expand the thinking that defines the security needs of the United States and of the world.

GNSPI is seeking to hire an adjunct Faculty position knowledgeable in cyber security, risk analysis, and global national security to teach graduate level national security courses for the Professional Master of Science in Global & National Security. The successful candidate will teach two  online graduate courses through the UNM online system. This position will also be required to successfully complete UNM online training and requirements. With the aid of GNSPI administrative staff this position will also develop topics and plan events each semester for the GNSPI Lecture Series.
