The Leadership Legislative Assistant assists the Leadership Office by providing a variety of administrative and legislative services specific to the Caucus Administrator.

Position Duties
The Leadership Legislative Assistant is expected to possess a high level of organizational skills and perform multiple tasks of increased complexity with increased speed, quality, and independence working as a vital member of the Caucus Administrator’s team to support the timely assignment of offices, floor seating and parking for members and staff. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer telephone in a courteous manner, take accurate messages, and/or refer calls to relevant person
- Greet visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel. Log appointments and follow-up actions as needed
- Receive, sort, and route mail, and maintain and route publications
- Prepare written correspondence on behalf of Member/ immediate supervisor
- Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as typing, faxing, filing, photocopying, collating, and bulk mailing preparation
- Maintain database and spreadsheet files as required
- Handle confidential correspondence
- Maintain communication with the Caucus Administrator’s District Office and her District Office Director/Chief of Staff
- Input the Caucus Administrator’s Legislative Expenses into LDPC
- Input the Caucus Administrator’s Per Diems weekly as required into LDPC
- Maintain the Caucus Administrator’s Mileage Log
- Make hotel reservations for the Caucus Administrator as required for Session Days
- Ability to create meetings via Teams as required by the Caucus Administrator
- Maintain the Caucus Administrator’s Legislative Expense Tracking Excel Document
- Proficiency in using the Caucus Administrator’s Constituent Tracking System
- Track the Caucus Administrator’s Penn Dot and Vital Records Constituent Work
- Required to work after-hours on Session days as needed by the Caucus Administrator
- Order office supplies from the storeroom and purchasing as required
- Submit visitor requests and gallery seating for the Caucus Administrator’s guests as needed
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following.
- Conduct basic administrative research and prepare reports
Requires onsite support of team members, staff, and Members, especially during Session. Session essential employees must be physically present at the worksite on Session Days.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Highschool diploma or equivalency. A minimum of one year caucus tenure is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and compose general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from superiors, constituents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to complete tasks in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Legislative Data Processing Center software applications on a desktop computer system.
MENTAL ABILITIES
Ability to get along with others and work effectively as a team player. Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to type at the rate of 55 words per minute with no more than 4 errors. Knowledge of shorthand/speed writing and/or Dictaphone very helpful.
