Job Description

SALARY: $58,656.00 Annually

UNIT: Grants & Special Projects

DEPARTMENT: Workforce Development & Lifelong Learning (WDLL)

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Adult Career Initiatives  

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Recruits and advises applicants of eligibility requirements.
  2. Reviews applicant files to certify eligible youth program participants.
  3. Recruits and monitors work experience sites to ensure compliance with Labor Laws.
  4. Tracks status and outcomes of adult and dislocated worker participants and provide reports in a timely manner.
  5. Establishes and maintains essential records and files, which includes data entry into customer management system.
  6. Prepares records for federal/state monitoring visits.
  7. Utilizes various electronic and manual reporting systems.
  8. Schedules Adult and Dislocated Worker (ADW) Program Information Sessions.
  9. Ensures scheduling of Labor Market Orientation for each youth.
  10. Prepares youth to be work-ready through workshops.
  11. Cross trains in the Opportunity Youth Program to recruit and advise applicants of their eligibility requirements. 
  12. Schedules information sessions for the Opportunity Youth Program. 
  13. Prepares and verifies ADW payroll and incentives through timesheets and documents.
  14. Follows up with participants to ensure compliance and satisfaction with programs.
  15. Develops, organizes, and maintains a referral network and resources for youth participants.
  16. Provides case management and referrals to qualified agencies for counseling.
  17. Serves as liaison to parents, program operators, training providers, and community agencies.
  18. Reports accidents that occur and obtains completed accident forms immediately.
  19. Handles any correspondence and reports as required.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree
  • Three (3) years of experience case management
  • Knowledge of WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) legislation, regulations and certification process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience providing case management to youth
  • Experience with Community Partnerships

 

 

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

 

Duration: Until 8/31/2026, with the potential to extend beyond this date, contingent on funding

 

Locations:              New Brunswick and Perth Amboy Sites

 

Schedule:               Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (1/2-hour lunch)

                                Some evenings and weekends

 

This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, State, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.
