Interpreter Coordinator
- Dunedin Hospital, Permanent 0.6 FTE part time
- Salary between $80,186 and $83,884 per annum pro rata

About the Role
As the Interpreter Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination and operational management of interpreter services across Health NZ Southern. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients with language and communication needs receive timely, safe, and culturally appropriate care.
You will work closely with clinical teams, external interpreter providers, and operational leaders to ensure interpreter services are well embedded, responsive, and aligned with organisational policy and patient safety requirements.
In this position you will effectively contribute to the smooth running of our Interpreter Service by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of our patients and whanau.
A primary focus will be on building relationships with Te Whatu Ora Southern staff and external agencies, along with ongoing maintenance of the service and coordinating daily practice. You will be at the forefront of ensuring our diverse communities are well served with an effective interpreter service.
Hours of work are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8am-4:30pm.

To be successful in this role you will also have:
- Previous Administration or Coordinator experience in a professional, customer-facing office environment
- Experience in a range of office systems and procedures including Microsoft suite
- An understanding of invoicing practices
- An interest in other cultures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- An understanding of confidentiality and privacy
