Law enforcement students will work in conjunction with the Wadena County Sheriff's Office to provide public services, conduct research and perform duties and tasks assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work to become familiar with Sheriff Office functions and practices.
- Visit and observe operations in other jurisdiction law enforcement agencies.
- Assist in projects needed by the Patrol Unit.
- Assist in projects needed by the Detective Unit.
- Assist in projects needed by the Jail Unit.
- Assists Emergency Management Director.
- Assists with administrative duties.
- Promotes a cooperative work effort with other city departments, appropriate community groups and other law enforcement agencies in the area.
- Answers citizens’ requests for information including directions, regulations, ordinances and where to obtain additional information.
- Performs computer data entry.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of legislative updates, law changes and court decisions relevant to the performance of duties.
- Available for call-out or extended shifts as required
