Job Description

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is looking to hire registered Speech Language Pathologist to provide in home therapy services to children in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas.

Job Summary:

The therapist is a qualified professional person who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.


Qualifications:

  • Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Speech Language Pathologist

  • One (1) full year of work experience preferred

  • Pediatric and home health experience is preferred (not required)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Familiarity with Kantime and EVV

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct evaluations and complete evaluation reports in timely manner

  • Plan activities and provide occupational therapy services

  • Record type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on clinical/progress notes and incorporated in the patient’s record weekly.

  • Maintain adequate records on all patient’s, including summary reports

  • Utilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral

  • Attend case conferences as requested

  • Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requested

  • Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Therapy Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel

  • Participate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities
