We’re looking for a talented individual to join our IT Support Team- Training in Chesapeake, VA.
Responsibilities:
• Provides technical support primarily for the training department. Department holds multiple classes with digital material, workstations and media every week.
• Support training workstations and servers including installation and testing of operating systems, business support software including Microsoft Office, and enterprise software including Apache Tomcat and java-based web applications. Training workstations are used for hands-on classroom usage with users/students in attendance or attendance virtually.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting network and application connectivity issues for local and remote students.
• Support several virtual environments running VMWare’s ESXi platform including initial virtual machine configuration, establishing baseline templates, as well as virtual machine cloning and snapshot processes.
• Maintain hardware and software assignment documentation including routine auditing and maintaining baseline stocking levels.
• Follow security best practices and contribute to continuous improvements to reliability, documentation, and standard procedures.
• Support full system lifecycle, from imaging, assignment, support/maintenance to disposal.
Required Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in an IT support capacity
• Associates degree in Information Technology or related-field, computer or related field or equivalent experience
• CompTIA Security+ (required) or ability to obtain within a 90 probationary period
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong research, problem solving and analytical skills
• Networking Proficiency - TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, PKI (Client/Server), vlans, switches, Firewalls (Windows, etc)
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Windows system administration and Microsoft Office
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance
• Ability to travel when required (infrequently)
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs., sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
• CompTIA A+
• Azure, Entra, MS365 Administration, Purview experience
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere/ESXi.Hyper-V or other virtualization systems
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 and/or CMMC (plus)
• Experience with endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, security monitoring, or incident response support (plus)
