Northeast Arc�s Day Habilitation (Day Hab) programs focus on the acquisition, retention, and improvement of self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. Our individualized Day Hab plans are tailored to each participant�s personal goals and dreams. We weave clinical supports and consultations into daily activities through our team of nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.

• Our programs offer specialty subservices to participants, including medical supports and community integration.
• Participants engage in a variety of activities, including adaptive technology, community-based outings, and daily living skills development.

Job Summary: As a Day Support Specialist, you will provide direct care and skills training to assigned individuals within a Day Habilitation setting. Your role is crucial in promoting the highest level of independence and satisfaction in their daily activities.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide skills instruction and develop adaptive strategies to ensure optimal independence and success in achieving goals outlined in the day hab service plan.

• Assist individuals with all aspects of personal care, including toileting, mealtime preparation, and support.

• Understand the clinical and social needs of individuals receiving services.

• Serve as a positive role model, helping individuals develop expected behaviors and interactive skills.

• Provide crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience working with intellectually and/or developmentally disabled adults.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for one hour uninterrupted.
• Must be able to bend and push wheelchairs.

Job Type: On-Site Full-Time- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Pay Rate: $24.00
