Athletic Trainer

Location: West Chester, Kennett Square, and King of Prussia, PA

Overview

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team in West Chester, Kennett Square, and King of Prussia, PA. Position Summary

This role focuses on supporting athletes’ health, performance, and recovery by evaluating conditions, developing customized training, rehabilitation, and nutrition plans, and collaborating closely with coaches, families, and medical professionals. The position also involves monitoring injury recovery, maintaining detailed records, and referring athletes to appropriate healthcare providers when needed. In addition, it includes administrative responsibilities such as managing supplies, inventory, and basic operational tasks. This is a full-time on-site role. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate records of patient/athlete condition, training, diet, treatment plans, and all clinical documentation within the EMR.
  • Assists in evaluating, monitoring, and supporting injured patients/athletes through treatment and recovery, including implementing exercise and nutrition plans as directed.
  • Utilizes knowledge of sports-related injuries to support patient care and assist providers in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Facilitates communication between patients and providers by collecting and relaying pertinent information and carrying out provider directives.
  • Prepares patients for visits, including rooming, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, preparing radiology, assisting with procedures (e.g., dressing removal, injections), and ensuring accurate EMR documentation.
  • Assists providers with prescriptions, forms (e.g., work notes, FMLA), and patient education as directed.
  • Prepares and manages patient charts prior to visits, ensuring all required documentation, imaging, testing, and equipment (e.g., DME, casting) are ready and appropriate.
  • Maintains exam room and workspace standards, including cleaning, restocking supplies, monitoring biohazard/sharps containers, and maintaining inventory.
  • Performs administrative and clerical tasks such as scanning documents, printing schedules, managing provider EMR desktops, and responding to voicemails within 24 business hours.
  • Supports company initiatives and compliance requirements, including quality programs and maintaining a HIPAA-compliant environment.
  • Promotes a positive patient experience and performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training as well as a valid state license or certification.
  • Proven education or experience will be requested

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer Certification
  • BOC Certification

Experience: 

  • 2 years of Athletic Trainer experience in a clinic setting preferred.
