Job Description

SUMMARY:



Provide manufacturing engineering and technical support to other Engineering teams while working cross-functionally with Quality, Tooling Engineers, Maintenance, Process Engineers and Project Engineers as well as support the Production teams to support daily production and ensure achievement of safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives.



 



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  • Actively promote and drive a culture of safety within Spectrum Plastics.

  • Provide daily technical support to production to achieve department goals for safety, quality, on-time delivery, scrap, efficiency, and cost improvements.

  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing methodologies to improve these same metrics.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment and perform root cause analyses.

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new product introductions.

  • Write and train production personnel on work instructions and procedures.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Solve problems on the factory floor and act as the primary technical resource to resolve production issues after they have been escalated through the factory.

  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis activities, and implementation of long-term solutions to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Develop and implement process improvements.

  • Generate and keep all manufacturing documentation up-to-date (BOM’s, specification changes, ECO’s, reports, print revisions, fixturing, protocols, etc.).

  • Lead formal root cause investigations and implement resulting corrective actions in a timely manner and confirm effectiveness through statistical analysis.

  • Interface with suppliers as required for incoming components, outsourced services, and new process equipment.

  • Write and revise protocols and reports, both internally and externally, for validation.

  • Complete process FMEA’s as required and implement and review process controls.

  • Contribute as a member of Material Review Board.

  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
